Managed support: per user, per month
The standard model for ongoing business IT support is a flat fee per user per month. Across the UK this typically runs from about £35–£55 for basic remote helpdesk, £55–£85 for a mid-tier plan that includes security and Microsoft 365 management, and £85–£150 for comprehensive support with strategy and on-site cover. London tends to sit 15–25% above the national average.
For reference, our managed support starts at £45 per user per month (remote-first) and tops out at £95 for fully-managed — deliberately at the accessible end of the market, with endpoint protection, email security and backup included rather than charged as extras.
Ad-hoc and project work
For one-off work without a support plan, expect £75–£150 per hour in the UK (£85–£120 is a fair London range), and £600–£900 per day for specialist cloud, DevOps or infrastructure work. Larger consultancies bill considerably more.
The extras to watch for
A quoted “£40 per user” can quietly become £55–£65 once endpoint protection, email security and backup are added back in. Always ask what’s included. Onboarding is often a separate one-off fee (commonly £1,000–£5,000 for larger firms), and out-of-hours support usually attracts a premium.
Our advice: compare like-for-like on what’s bundled, not just the headline per-user number.
How to get an accurate figure
The honest answer is that price depends on your user count, how much on-site cover you need, and the state of your current setup. That’s exactly why we offer a free IT review — we look at what you have and give you a clear, written figure before you commit to anything.
